Factors Which Influence the Success of Failure of American Indian/Native American College Students
By Melvin Jenkins, Indiana University of Pennsylvania

Abstract

Native American students enter into higher education with culture specific needs, and often face institutional barriers. As developmental educators, we must be aware of those factors which impact the success or failure of our learners in order that we can look toward facilitating success. This article seeks to examine the nature and needs of Native American students in American higher education, and factors which influence their success or failure.
