NYCLSA Annual Conference

2008 Conference

Over 30 new members were among the more than 125 participants at NYCLSA’s 31st Annual Symposium. The conference was held April 6 - 8, 2008 at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel in Poughkeepsie, New York. Following her lively pre-symposium workshop, Anabel Jensen, Ph.D. gave a moving keynote address on assessing our emotional intelligence, seeking our noble goals, and becoming models for positive change.

CRLA/Northeast’s concurrent conference on Monday provided extra power to the diverse workshops and presentations (see link to concurrent sessions below). The annual awards banquet at Ristorante Caterina de’Medici on the beautiful campus of the Culinary Institute of America beside the Hudson River was another high point.

Congratulations to Paul Moore of Tompkins-Cortland Community College. Paul is this year’s lucky winner of the drawing for the NYCLSA membership. Thank you to all who filled out the conference evaluation.

Conference Chairperson (and now NYCLSA President) Mariangela Chandler thanks the many NYCLSA members who worked so diligently before and during the conference to make it such a success. See you in Corning in March 2009!
